INTEL Vs AMD

There are countless companies in the computer industry but there is only one battle that counts AMD Vs INTEL.This duel has been going on for a long time
Primarily I am a hardware enthusiasist at heart. I stick with the hardware as long as it keeps my pc in the front of performance curve after that its life ends in the thrash regardless of the brand it belongs to. what is point of hardware loyalty???. Whether its AMD or INTEL they are not going to love you back no matter how much you might sing their praises.
Intel's dual and quad core processors are the kings of the heap. In particular, the companies Core 2 Duo/quad processor line up is out-pacing AMDs current Athlon64 X2/FX processor families. Nowadays both AMD and Intel platforms support a lot of cross compatible hardware. Sure the CPU and motherboards platform specific, but you can share DDR2 memory, video cards and other peripherals easily enough. If PC speed is what you crave, you can jump from one processor platform to the next ever couple months, taking your memory, video cards, hard drives and everything along with you.
The Intel Pentium 4 and D processor series were notorious for consuming a lot of power and consequently running quite hot. The architecture Intel based the Core 2 Duo processors on is much better in this regard. But when comparing with INTEL and AMD the former consumes a little more than the latter.
When it comes to design of the heatsinks INTEL is the king of the ring. The heatsinks used in the current Core 2 Duo processors are remarkably good and quite. The one thing that has propped up AMD for the longest time was wide support for dual videocard gaming. This was sorted out when INTEL added support for dual video cards with its ATI cross fore technology. When it comes to pricing AMD has the edge over INTEL. When comparing both the basic and high end processors of both AMD and INTEL, AMD's processors are relatively cheaper. Intel's extreme edition processors are still priced in the stratosphere, but its regular desktop CPU lines are very affordable. When it comes to my preference, i would rather go in for INTEL than AMD because of its promising performance and power.
What do you think about the current situation of these processors. Any views contradicting mine are most welcome. Feel free to express.........
